The Williamstown Fair

Wow! What a weekend at the Williamstown Fair. If you were there, you know what I am talking about. if you weren’t, you definitely need to add it to your must do list. Of the many exciting events and displays, of course my favourite was the Heritage Breeds tent put together by the Heritage Breeds Club of Eastern Ontario.

First, the people. Ron Eamer, Linley McPhail, Pegi Holtz, Ian Kentell. Without these four earth movers, this tent would be just another great idea. Next came the volunteers who gave up their time to keep little fingers out of cages and make sure the animals were comfortable and happy. Finally the breeders who share their precious animals with us so we can educate the public about the benefits of heritage breeds. Today I am showing pictures but in the weeks ahead I hope to showcase the breeders and the breeds that keep livestock diversity alive in our little corner of the world.
